Black History Month Finale: Bethune-Cookman and Southern Set for High-Stakes SWAC Doubleheader on HBCU GO

The Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats travel to face the Southern University Jaguars in a pivotal SWAC doubleheader on Feb. 28, 2026, the final day of Black History Month. The action streams live on HBCU GO. With tournament seeding on the line, this doubleheader serves as both a celebration of HBCU excellence and a definitive statement game heading into March Madness.
The women’s game tips off at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the HBCU GO Sports Crossover Show at 3 p.m. ET with hosts Jasmine McKoy and Tolly Carr, leading into the men’s matchup at 3:30 p.m. ET.
In the women’s contest, Bethune-Cookman relies on forward DeMya Porter, who averages 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, with guard Daimoni Dorsey contributing 8.5 points per outing. The Wildcats’ defensive intensity will be severely tested against a Southern squad that scores 60.7 points per game with balanced production and strong rebounding on their home court.
Immediately following the women’s game, fans can tune in to the HBCU GO Sports Crossover Show. Hosted by Jasmine McKoy, co-host Tolly Carr, and featuring HBCU basketball insider Olivia Antilla, the show delivers conference-wide updates and insights ahead of the highly anticipated men’s clash.
On the men’s side, BCU turns to Jakobi Heady, who is averaging nearly 18 points per game as a consistent offensive spark. Southern counters with one of the SWAC’s most potent offenses, pouring in over 80 points per game while moving the ball efficiently and aggressively.
